DREAMS ACHIEVED: DREAMS PURSUED

Xa Tollemache, (Author, ‘A Garden Well-placed’) &

Hopwood DePree (Author, ‘Downton Shabby’)

Determination and talent has, and is, producing astounding results for two courageous, creative individuals, pursuing their dreams in parallel.

Xa Tollemache, Member of RHS Council (Author, ‘A Garden Well-placed’), set out to design her garden at Helmingham Hall in Suffolk, leading to her winning a Gold Medal and two Silver-gilts at RHS Chelsea Flower Shows and a successful career all over the British Isles and abroad in designing town and country gardens, both large and small.

Hopwood DePree (Author, ‘Downton Shabby’) an award-winning and critically acclaimed writer, performer and film-maker from California. He has appeared at many notable stand-up comedy venues , touring the UK with his one-man stand-up show culminating in the Edinburgh Fringe. Hopwood discovered his ancestral home (since 1400s) near Manchester, empty for many years, was in near terminal decline. His dream is to restore it to its former glory.

Both have moved in new directions to achieve their dreams: both have excelled in their new callings. Xa and Hopwood have written their lively and amusing stories in books that they recently presented at the Chatsworth Literary Fest.

On October 7th, they will entertain our audience, as a precursor to a possible US tour.

The evening will raise funds for Bergh Apton Church and Ormiston Families, a charity working across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex & Cambridgeshire. Ormiston supports children, young people and their families with mental health issues, young people to cope with the loss of someone significant and those struggling with the imprisonment of a loved one.
